Q&A

How far from a cell tower can you be to still be able to use the Elsys Amplimax Ultra?

The short answer is, with clear line of sight, WELL over 10 miles is possible.

This is a difficult question to answer because cellular connections are not so simple as to say all towers operate the same, and cellular is not a single frequency aimed at your house.

Cell bands range from 600MHz to 6000MHz, not including mmWave signals. Every tower has a variety of bands that cover different frequencies and may not have a full range of them available or functioning all the time.

The different frequencies travel different distances. 600MHz travels MUCH further and penetrates structures MUCH better than 6000MHz. It scales pretty much in a linear fashion. The higher the frequency, the shorter the distance it can travel at usable power levels.

Further that, every cell tower around you may not have their cells/sectors antennas aimed at your house. That will make a huge difference in how much a signal will be to useful for you.

Elsys engineering has done field test at distances over 35km, with customer experiences reported at over 50km (21.75 miles to 31 miles).  All in all, if you can get a signal at all, the outdoor antenna system of the Elsys Amplimax Ultra should be able to improve it for more usability.
